I created this label to provide northern Barossa Ebenezer Shiraz, from some of the finest vineyards in the world, at an ultra-value price. When I first met Chris Ringland, he was making only minute quantities of luxury, ultra-premium Shiraz from his own vineyard, so small it might be more accurate to call it a garden.  I felt it was a crime that more people were not able to drink wine made by Australia's finest winemaker, so I developed this label at R Wines to create a wine from Chris at a price more people could afford. In the first year, all the grapes were from Ebenezer, which is grand cru level Shiraz dirt in the northern Barossa, but a big company had trademarked the name of the little town of Ebenezer and sued us to stop using the name.  So subsequent vintages did not have the Ebenezer designation.
